.a job and a bargain.

So my husband (who, btw, has been working out like a beast so his muscles are big, bulging and very distracting at the moment...thought you'd like to know that) came up with a pretty brilliant solution to my "blogging blank".

want to know what it is?

he says...

do it anyways.  even if the post is lame.

So here I go.  With my lame post.

Something that is kind of big to report is that I am getting a job.  I never thought in a million years I would say that.  I have always wanted to be a stay-at-home mom with dreams of cooking, cleaning and carpooling.  While obviously looking like this...

but now I'm bored.

Don't get me wrong, I love being with my kids, but my boys are in school full time and Kings goes a good portion of the week so I have a fair amount of free time on my hands.  There is only so much cleaning, cooking and carpooling one can do before it gets old.  I really enjoyed the free time at first.  I was riding all the time (which I will still do), getting my nails done, probably shopping too much...well not probably, I was...and it was great.  For the first time in 8 years I had time to myself, but after a while it started to get old.  I will never be able to be one of those wives who just sits at home while her husband busts his butt at work.  I want to contribute more.  So in comes the job.

For now, until it comes to fruition, the job will remain a secret, but expect a post on it in the near future.  The brilliant thing about this profession is the freedom it gives me to still be with my kids.  I will still take them to school, pick them up, be at every game, see every performance and spend the evenings with them.  That is still most important to me and nothing will ever change that.  They probably won't even notice the difference after I start working working which is very important to me.  They come first.  Always.

So with all that to say...I now feel like I need an office space.  While we don't have a spare room, we do have a section in the master bedroom that I feel would be perfect for me.  I went on the hunt for a Parsons desk and found one I love from West Elm , but for the price tag of $349 plus tax and shipping, I felt like that was more than I wanted to spend on such a small/temporary space.  So my "master online shopper gene" went into action and I found a similar desk at Overstock for only $150 with free shipping + 2.5% back from Ebates.

Overstock desk...

They are literally the exact same desk.

now to convince Brandon and his muscles to get me an iMac.

pictures of the "office area" to come.

Have a great weekend ladies!

Even though you think your posts are lame, your readers, well me anyway, are happy to see when you have a new post. Love the desk and I'm excited to see what job comes with it! Have a great weekend!

Congrats on the job! Sometimes I wish I could work. I still have two tiny ones at home though so for now it's cooking, cleaning and carpooling for me.

Hooray for the job! Even better that it won't interfere with your family.

Can't wait to see more of your office!
